JAL MANDIR A Mission on water conservation 23 2019-Jul

TheConcept is coined by Mr. GirishBhai Patel and inspired by Dr. SureshKhanapurkar, a renowned Ex. Geologist of Government of Maharashtra.

Theconcept is based on Shirpur Pattern wherein construction of check dams on everystream whether it may be small or big and should be with gate and west weir toaugment huge storage.

The“JAL MANDIR” concept stresses on removing the upper layer (as per texture andstructure of soil) of soil .The soil is removed vertically up to 15 to 20 meteras per the geological structure of soil. This process enables the rock for 100%conservation and also enables for instant natural recharge of water. Thisprocess need two important factor deepening the soil up to water Crusty Rocksin case we don’t find it we must deepen it up to that level.

Advantages:

1.  It accumulates more water than traditionalwatershed structures.

2.  It increases infiltration and percolation andeffectively recharges underground water resources.

3.  It reduces risk of both floods and droughts.

4.  It is a kind of watershed decentralization.

5.  It increases water availability 2-3 times moreto watershed area.

6.  It overcomes from evaporation, stagnation andoverflow like problems.

7.  It minimizes soil erosion.

TillDate “JAL MANDIR” concept has reached to 42villages. The concept has gathermomentum and additional is going on. The funds and sites have been decided bythe owners or group of farmers.
